Today is Asher’s 2nd birthday. Happy 2nd birthday, my sweet baby boy! Seems like you were just born. And yes, I am ashamed to say that I have a post titled “Asher turns 1” still in draft form. So I’ll try to make up for that by posting an amazing 2nd birthday post 🙂
Here’s where we left off… Asher’s 1 year shoot (by the talented Brooke Moxley!)
I gathered up some favorite photos. They aren’t the favorites, but they are some. I take so many that it consumes beaucoup time to go thru all. So these are some favorites of my very happy boy! Asher seriously is one happy kid. I love his giggle. I love his way of finding fun in the most mundane thing (the kid loves boots! And shoes, toothbrushes, books, pretzels, taking off socks, giving tight hugs and being held, going to school, playing with Gabe, sleeping, eating applesauce, and jumping on Daddy while he lays on the floor.)
Then there’s those times that you’re kind of a rascal, whether it be serious, mischievous, sassy, bored, tired and fussy, or just plain cute:
I am so proud to be this boy’s mom. And both of them together… it’s just beautiful. They fight, for sure, but most of the time they get along well. Gabe definitely loves being the big brother, and Asher loves Gabe as his big brother. And this past weekend, we got to spend time with the big big brother, TJ 🙂 I need to download those pics!
Daddy and Asher have a special bond. Asher looks just like Daddy, so there’s that adorable cuteness 😉 Papi and baby papi… they have my heart (and Gabe, you do too!)
Asher’s grandparents (Mima & Papa) and great-grandma also adore him, but he’s kinda Mima’s boy:
And then that brings me… the momma. I got choked up earlier when I saw an eyelash on his eye, and I brushed it away and made a wish for him. In the words of Rascal Flatts, “my wish for you is that this life becomes all that you want it to… your dreams stay big, your worries stay small, you never need to carry more than you can hold.” And with that, I nearly cried as he jumped from my lap to go dance in the kitchen. We read his favorites tonight, “Hop on Pop” and “Go Dog Go” and also “Counting Kisses” which is my favorite because he hugs me, and says all kinds of cute things like “yummy knees” and his various other body parts (eyes, ears, nose, toes). Such a cutie!! I hope you know how much I, and the rest of our family, love you Asher. You have made my life so fulfilling. I wasn’t sure if I could love another child as much as I loved Gabe (before you came along) but my heart expanded and boy, you moved right in there. I’d do anything for you. Happy birthday, sweet boy. Your momma loves you!
P.S. Perhaps my fave photo of the year. And I didn’t Photoshop it either!
