After a day and a half of travel… we got to spend a lovely weekend in Puerto Rico!
Last time we were on the island was 2 years ago, when Javi & I went solo.
Saturday (Feb 3) was our only full day in PR. I’m gonna let the pics explain…probably WAY more interesting than reading my ramblings!
We got up early (because of course, KIDS), and walked around a little before breakfast.
We bought some yummy pineapple!
We chilled on the porch…
toured El Morro in the morning….
We had to have some piragua on the way back to our place! Mine was guava-flavored–YUM!
We had an amazing lunch… hello, shrimp mofongo, where have you been all my life?!?!
….then after nap time, we hit up the beach at Isla Verde, about a 15-20 min Uber ride away.
I met my friend Pam for dinner (she is on a temp assignment there with the Army), and made plans to run with her the next morning. I had some yummy asopao soup, and brought leftover tostones [fried plantains that are mashed into thick “chips” and fried again] and an empanadilla back to Javi, so of course I had to stop for some Mayo Ketchup at the SuperMax (grocery store).
Whew! What an awesome day! Stay tuned for our last day in PR, and cruise day 1 🙂
